If you had the tme you could alwayshave experimented with a Red 5 streaming server (open source) to stream the videos..but you;d still need to convert - a few sites allow you to upload and convert, then download the resulting flv (smething we may do as well.)

If still want upload and convert, we offer that at tutorom.com, along with a lot more features you might want to use for teaching. It's still in beta, but if you try it out, please let me know how it goes. The site is free and will continue to be free, supported by vtc.com.

I'm applauding you right now. Can you hear ME! Thanks for the step-by-step. I think it's time for a big of holiday vacation no?

You speak the truth, Dave.

I guess I needed to know how to do it -- not just for puppets but for other projects, too (I also do a lot of workshops for teachers through the National Writing Project).
In the end, the best way to share video may still be one of the hosting sites that are out there and you just live with the limitations of those sites.

As for me, now that I have done it, I can do future projects much quicker and with greater flexibility. And I have some comfort in mind in knowing that I am hosting and streaming my own videos, with no outside links to worry about.

Small victory, to be sure.

Take care

I'm quite impressed with your ingenuity and perseverance in figuring this out. But, it appears as if it took you a long time to accomplish this for all the puppet shows. Honestly, in the real world of teaching, is there really time to do all of this and everything else teachers and administrators are required to do? I would love to be able to follow these steps, but I have limited time in my busy day at school and at home.
