Edublogs now allows users to insert javascript, iframes and other embeddable objects and I am testing it out here with the newly rediscovered (thanks to Twitter friends) Shelfari, which is a social book-sharing network site.

Peace (in books),

I love Shelfari! I’m using firefox, and what I’m seeing is a big blank space with a little Shelfari scroll bar at the bottom of the space. Is your bookshelf supposed to be visible? I would love to put Shelfari in as a widget in my side bar. Do you know if that’s possible with Edublogs?
    Thanks!

You are right — sometimes, my shelf shows up and sometimes not. I wonder if the feed from Shelfari is too much for edublogs to handle. I have no idea. You also need Flash on your computer, though, so that may be a problem.
My guess is that you can create your own Shelfari widget — maybe by plunking down the embed code (for Wordpress, I think) from Shelfari into a Text Widget and give that a try.
