Slice of Life/Day in a Sentence: All Who Wander

(The Slice of Life Challenge in March is hosted by Two Writing Teachers as way to encourage teachers-as-writers. You can join in, if you want. There is also a monthly call for Slices on Tuesdays. You can write then, too)

We wandered (the forest), got lost (on new trails) and then found our way back (after a few hours) on what could only be described as a near perfect New England Spring Day.

Peace (no compass needed),
Kevin

  1. It was a beauty yesterday! I so appreciate the focus of your single sentence approach. It’s like you distill the day into its purest essence.

  2. It sounds near-perfect to me.

My hall bath is decorated with a nautical theme and the shower curtain bears a compass with Tolkien’s quote – a favorite.

  3. I’m trying one sentence tomorrow! You’ve inspired me! Glad you were able to get out and get lost in the beauty of nature Narnia on the first day of spring.

  4. “I am writing a long letter because I didn’t have time to write a short one.” Or something like that.
Writing small is so hard. I love how you distilled the day into that one sentence. It tells everything really. I might try that.

  5. Yesterday I had the perfect spring day — I captured it in six photos. I like the idea of one sentence! And it will work well this month with my arms!

  6. Sliced one rambly sentence already this round (or think I remember doing so) but I’m ready for another after a short walk there and backa again.

  7. It sounds lovely–the wandering, the getting lost and found again. (No navigation needed). I’m loving your sentences!
