Slice of Life/Day in a Sentence: Cacophonic Symphony

(The Slice of Life Challenge in March is hosted by Two Writing Teachers as way to encourage teachers-as-writers. You can join in, if you want. There is also a monthly call for Slices on Tuesdays. You can write then, too)

It was the sound that caught our ears from a distance, the crowded chaotic cacophonic* symphony of peeper frogs singing forth their songs in the early Spring sun.

Peace (listening in),
Kevin

*might not be a real word, but it should be, if it isn’t

  1. These cacophonous frogs bring rich sound to my ears – I can hear them! The sounds of nature even in cacophony bring harmony!

  2. What a beautiful sound indeed! Something I would love to bottle up and take with me wherever I go. And if not the frogs, the sound of crickets on warm summer nights. Hope there’s another visit to the symphony in your not too distant future!

  3. I used to Slice with you way back in 2009 and 2010. In re-reading some old posts, I had linked to one you had written about “not doing more work than a student.” I’m happy to see you are still here, still slicing!

  4. I am waiting anxiously for the first spring peeper frogs. It’s still too cold where I am, so I have to content myself with the sound of spring rain wafting through the slightly open bedroom window.
