On the way up
to take in the sky,
my eyes notice
the Great Blue Heron,
a floating apparition
shadowed by cloud
on its way towards water

Ooooh! I love a great blue heron sighting! They are such distinctive (and large) birds.
Blue herons are magnificent! I’ve seen one a few times in our wetland area, and in a conservation area not far awy.
