Poetry: Picklock The Poem

Poetry Picklock

This morning’s poem was sparked by the one-word prompt of “unlock” and led to another poem about poems poem.

Like a picklock
with a tension
wrench at midnight
in moonless dark,
curious fingers
find the contour
of each word,
turning phrases
within the poem
to finally unlock
a possibility,
springing forth
free

I tried to play with my poem a bit, too, but didn’t get too far.
