Slice of Life Video: Inside the Pyramids
(This is part of the Slice of Life Challenge over at Two Writing Teachers)
I normally get to school a bit earlier than most of my colleagues — it’s that time to get my head ready for teaching — and I was wandering down the hallways, looking at this recent social studies project that my teaching colleague does with our kids. The students create pyramids of what they would bring into the afterlife with them, and then they put the pyramids on top of their lockers.
Here’s a brief video tour of a few of them.

Very cool idea! I bet the kids loved doing it. What a great way to get to know more about students and what is important to them.

Kevin,
Thank you for sharing this slice of life. I thought it was a creative way of capturing a moment. Not only were the pyramids remarkable, but I also enjoyed witnessing the quiet and calm of the hallways before kids get there. The slamming of an occasional locker like a harbinger of what’s to come.

Very cool idea! Forwarded the blog link to my social studies colleague! We, too, have tops of lockers that slant like that! Don’t know why I’m using so many exclamation marks!
